Spastic society to organise drawing contest on World Disability Day

IMPHAL, Nov 24: The Spastic Society of Manipur in a press release has stated that in keeping with the theme for this years World Disability Day – "Inclusion and community" would be organising a spot drawing competition on the 3rd of Dec 2009 at 8:30 at Ghari, airport road, Imphal.

The press release further stated that the competition shall be for three categories i.e. juniors (Std V-VII):-theme "Disabled are differently abled"

For seniors (Std VIII-X)the theme is "We are a part of the society, not apart"

Theme for special (Open to all disabled students): - Theme "Nothing is impossible"

The press release also said first prizes will carry an cash award of Rs. 3000, second Rs. 2000, third Rs. 1000, and consolation Rs. 500, along with a certificate for all categories.

Forms will be available at- Unique Collection, Tera, Siroy, Kwakeithel, Job Center, Babupara, Dove, Keishampat Heartshing, Lamphel, Sindam, Singjamei, Landmark, Khurai, Indra Spare Parts, Kaka foundation, Kakching, Losak Stationary, Thoubal, MANEDA, Senapati, Thangjing Paper Mart, Moirang, Nandini Book Store, Bishnupur, it added.

It said a state level chess championship for the persons with disability including visual impairment will also be organized on the 1st Dec 2009 at the premise of the spastic society of Manipur at 10 a.m. The said championship will be categorized into juniors (under 15 years) and seniors (above 15 years) and the winners will be selected for participation in the National Abilympic competition. Forms are available at the center.

The press release said the society is a national award winner for best institute in empowering persons with disabilities in 2008
