The Imphal Free Press

Imphal, Nov 20: The senior opposition leader MLA O Joy Singh expressed his concerned over the failures of the opposition members in the Assembly to take a constructive role.

The MLA of Langthabal Assembly Constituency, while attending the inauguration function of Kakwa Asem Leikai Community Hall as chief guest today, expressed that it has been the only Manipur Peoples` Party (MPP) which has been spearheading several public issues in the House while other ruling MLAs remain as silent spectators dozing throughout the session.

He further stated about the partiality of the state government in taking up development works, concentrating mainly in the constituencies of ministers and other ruling MLAs neglecting other areas.

The guest of honour of today`s function, R.K. Anand, MLA Naoriya Pakhanglakpa A/C, made a clarion call to the people of Manipur to get united once again like during the historic June 18 incident to rock the Indian Government to end human rights violations in the state.

Presiding of the function, Dr. Nimaichand Luwang, President MPP, said that MPP is the only party in Manipur which has raised several issues in the House and served the people without giving any room for complaint and lauded O.Joy for constructing such a multipurpose hall despite financial constraints.

Today`s function was also attended by Th. Iboyaima, Social Worker, Dr. Suren, Retd. Director of Health Services, Y. Khemchand and members of Asem Leikai Development Club.
