AR refutes charge by UNLF

The Imphal Free Press

Imphal, Nov 20: The Assam Rifles refuted the charged levelled by the underground UNLF in connection with the news report that appeared in various local dailies under th title, "UNLF claims AR keeps captives to be killed for propoganda mileage".

According to the statement of PRO, IGAR (south), the press release issued by the underground UNLF claiming that AR engaged in false encounter is uterly baseless, mischievious and frivolously fabricated. The chaotic state in Manipur is the handiwork of so called liberation who are causing a real harm and nuisance to the society and it is adiscernible fact to the public by now.

The PRO statement further mentioned that, The activities of of these groups are directly effecting peace, development, education, culture and societal bond and taken the populance backwards by many years instead of moving forward. Every man, women and child of Manipur knows this and they admit it. The militant groups have no accounatbility and publish statements without considering the facts only to mislead the populance. Over the year the public has understood their game and hence such statements do not have any locus standi.

The statement also further mentioned that, the Assam Rifles troops have been carrying out counter insurgency operations proffessionally and would continue to do so. False and malicious propoganda would not deter the Assam Rifles in carrying out operations against militants groups, Assam Rifles as Sentinels of the North East will also continue to assist the populance in development programmes and help in ensuring peace and tranqulity the statement added.
