CM to leave for MHA appointment today; directs foolproof security for schools

Imphal, Nov 19: All arrangements have been made for the movements of the chief minister Okram Ibobi Singh who who would be travelling to New Delhi tomorrow to keep an appointment with the Union home minister, P Chidambaram.
The chief minister is scheduled to leave for New Delhi tomorrow morning by an Indigo Flight at 9.45 am.
According to a highly placed source, the chief minister who has recovered from his indisposition yesterday, gave his official confirmation to the Union home minister that he would be in New Delhi tomorrow in time for a meeting with the latter.
The source further said that all the security measures have taken up for the movement of the chief minister tomorrow morning.
Mention may be made that the Union home minister had called chief minister to come to New Delhi for a discussion on the present situation of the state especially the paralysis of education on account of the class boycott agitation by three students bodies, AMSU, MSF and KSA in support of ongoing stir called by the Apunba Lup which have been demanding justice in the July 23 fake encounter case involving Manipur police commandos.
The agitators have also been demanding, among others, the resignation of chief minister on moral ground.
The source further disclosed that the chief minister is concerned about the official summon from the Union Home minister and collected whatever official documents available on the various major incidents related to the counter insurgency operations in the state, including the official reports of the July 23 firing.
Earlier in the day an emergency internal security meeting presided by the chief minister at his official bungalow this evening seriously discussed initiatives from the state government for immediate opening of private schools.
According to a an official source, the chief minister during the brief meeting which lasted from 5.30 pm till 6pm instructed the Manipur DGP Y Joykumar to give strong instructions to concerned SPs of the four valley districts to provide adequate security to each and every private schools operating in the state from tomorrow onwards in order to enable them to start normal classes.
The official source further disclosed that in compliance of the directives of the chief minister, state DGP relayed serious instructions to all concerned SPs of the valley district to provide security measures to all educational institutions, both private and government, from tomorrow to enable them to resume normal classes.
