Handicapped children contribute for tsunami relief

IMPHAL, Jan 20: The physically challenged children of the All Manipur Mentally Handicapped Persons’ Welfare Organisation, Mongsangei along with staff and other members of the organisation presented a bank draft for an amount of Rs. 5,147 to the Governor of Manipur, Dr. SS Sidhu towards contribution to the victims of the killer tsunami.

The members of the Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee, Imphal headed by its president S Krishnan Singh also presented draft amount of Rs. 51,000 to the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund through the Governor. The contributions were made by the Sikh community residing in the state.

S Sanahanbi Devi, retd., principal, DM College of Commerce also donated a sum of Rs. 1000 as bank draft through the Governor for the PM’s National Relief Fund.
Meanwhile, the NSS volunteers of Manipur Public School, Koirengei in the meantime have collected a sum of Rs. 2800 for contribution to the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund in aid of the tsunami victims.

The NSS units - I & II of Oriental college collected a sum of Rs 2043 from the NSS volunteers, teachers and staffs of the college and the same amount has been donated to Prime Ministers’ national relief fund.
