Dr. Sidhu to attend Governors’ meet

IMPHAL, Jan 19: The state planning department had called for information from all sectors under the state government department regarding the implementation of schemes and grievances faced by the departments on or before January 20.

Sources said that the information has been called up for onward submission to the Governor secretariat so as to be able to highlight the same by the state Governor at the conference of Governors, scheduled to be held on February 8 and 9 at Rastrapati Bhawan, New Delhi.

Law and order situation, developmental scenario and other important issues of special concern etc., are to be included in the information.

The two day conference of the Governors will discuss various issues like India’s relationship with neighbouring countries, overall national security scenario and border management related issues, effective disaster management strategies particularly tsunami, effective and gainful utilization of Governors as Chancellors in governance of universities and elevation of the minds of the youths, the release said.

Further, the two days conference will also discuss the road map of perspective development under the tenth five year plan, plan allocation, percentages of major departments in sectorial allocations, utilization of funds, physical and financial target, utilization certificates submitted for each normal plan, CSS, NEC and NLCPR, look east policy need for action on Manipur-Myanmar border trade, border management and disaster management in Manipur besides other issues which the state government needed to highlight, it said.

The sources further said that the Governor of the state demanded a comprehensive note on the points enumerated on or before January 25 for his perusal.

Concerned departments should put up the required information to the planning department by January 20 positively, the sources added.
