Tsunami victims condoled

IMPHAL, Jan 3: The Former Presiding Officers’ Forum of Manipur has condoled the loss of lives and properties when the killer tsunami waves hit across south east Asia including coastal areas of Manipur. A two minute silence was also observed for the tsunami victims at the bungalow of the Speaker TN Haokip today.

The Communist Party of India-Marxist, CPI-M has also donated an amount of Rs. 10 lakhs to the PM’s Relief Fund to aid the tsunami victims. The party MPs also agreed to donate one day’s salary to the relief fund, a release said. A team of the CPI(M) including doctors and MPs of the party has rushed in to the tsunami affected areas to provide relief. Further, the party also appealed to the public of Manipur to donate generously for the tsunami victims.
