The Imphal Free Press

IMPHAL, Dec 29: The Joint Administrative Council, JAC of the All Manipur Government Employees Organisation and All Manipur Trade Unions Council has convened a meeting of various trade unions and departmental employees associations on December 31 in connection with the tsunami disaster that has hit many states of India.

According to K Madhumangol, president of the JAC, it is being proposed that all employees of the state government should contribute one day’s salary each towards rescue and relief efforts for the tsunami-hit people of the country. A decision in this regard will be taken at the December 31 meeting, Madhumangol said.
