RIMS admitted to UNESCO bioethics network

IMPHAL, Nov 26: The Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, a prestigious medical institute in the north eastern region has achieved yet another landmark. The institute has been admitted as a member of the UNESCO chair in bioethics world network.

A formal communique in this regard has been sent to the director RIMS, Dr L Fimate by Professor Amnon Carmi, president of the World Association of Medical Law.

The RIMS is the only medical college in the NE region to be conferred this rare honour and status. It will mean a change in ethical aspect of medical science in the institution, a statement siad. There will be significant improvement in the investigation, treatment and research work in biomedical science.

The RIMS will be in touch with various information regarding research, investigation and treatment in the field of bioethical issues worldwide, the statement said.
